MARIA RAU MEMORIAL STATE SCHOLARSHIP 2021

                                                                                              New Jersey CDA State Scholarship 2021

 

   Applications for the 2021 NJ  State Court Scholarship, “Maria Rau Memorial Scholarship”, will be available from the State Education Chairperson, Justine Romanelli, beginning in December 2020.

   This scholarship is open to any child/grandchild of a New Jersey CDA member. The student must be a resident of NJ, currently a high school senior, and attending a four year college in September 2021 as a freshman.  A total grant of $4,000 ($1,000 per year) will be deposited in a special student account.

  Please write for an application and include the name and address of the student or CDA member who is to receive the application. The application will be mailed directly to the student or member or Court Regent as indicated in the application request letter. Local Court Regents and Education Chairpersons are asked to follow up with members who have requested applications to remind them of the deadline date.

   Applications and the required documentations are to be postmarked by April 1, 2021, and sent to the State Education Chairperson. The student’s application must be signed by Court Regent.

2021  NATIONAL EDUCATION  CONTEST ~ INFORMATION

2021 National Education Contest

 

   The themes and procedures for the 2021 National Education Contest have been sent to State Regents and Local Court Regents .  Details of the contest, student/member entry form, and local court form are included in the Quarterly Newsletter received in September. Local Court Regents should forward the information and forms to the Court Education Chairperson.

    This year’s themes are “Let All You Do Be Done With Love” or “Show Love To One Another”.  The contest is open to students in grades 4-5 in Essay, Poetry, Art, Computer Art; grades 6-8 and 9-12 in Essay, Poetry, Art, Computer Art, Music, and Photography; and for adult CDA members in Poetry, Art, and Photography. All entries must be of the contestant’s own imagination and creation. The rules for each category are detailed in the information from National CDA.  Please note some changes. Information and forms are also available on CDA website at www.catholicdaughters.org. under Member Resources/Forms.

   Please be sure each student/adult CDA member completes the required 2021 Education Contest Entry Form. The entire full page entry form must be taped or glued to the back of the entry. This form must be fully and legibly completed and signed by the student/member. Do not fold or roll entries. All Poetry and Essay contest entries must be typed.

    Only one first place winning entry in each division (not one per theme) from each Court is to be submitted to the State Chairperson postmarked no later than March 1, 2021. Submissions to local courts should be by Feb.1 or earlier to allow March 1 delivery to State Chair.  Please be sure all winning entries meet contest rules before selecting winners at the local court level.

    Local Court Education Chairpersons must complete the 2021 State Education Contest Cover Sheet with names of first place winners and school, and submit with first place entries.

JCDA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

National Scholarship Opportunities 2021

9th Grade Catholic High School Scholarships

JCDA College Scholarship

 

 

   The National Court will award two $1000 scholarships to 8th grader entering the 9th grade in the fall of 2021 to a Catholic High School. Applicant must be Catholic, may be male or female, and does not have to have a relative who is a CDA member. An essay, required documents and application must be submitted directly to National Chairman of Youth/JCDA, as listed on application, postmarked no later than April 1, 2021.

   There is also a $1000 scholarship for a Junior Catholic Daughter entering college in the fall of 2021. Applicant must be Catholic and entering freshman year in college. Applicant must be a member of JCDA for at least two years. Entries must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2021, and mailed directly to National Youth/JCDA Chairman.  

    Information, rules, and application for the scholarships are contained in the September Quarterly Letter from National CDA.  All entries for scholarships are to be sent to National Chairman as noted on the applications.
